He paints in both oil and watercolor mediums, using an impressionistic painting style, and dividing his time between painting outdoors, en plein air, and in the studio using photographs and sketches.
He has a BS degree in Textile Chemistry from Georgia Tech. Training and experience in color science has been very helpful in his art career.
His works are exhibited in Virginia at Artists in Cahoots Gallery, Lexington; Co-Art Gallery, Staunton; Allegheny High- lands Arts & Crafts Center, Clifton Forge. Recent awards: 2nd in Oils, Waynesboro Fall Festival; 1st in Graphics and in Oils, Rockbridge Fair Art Show.
Other interests include gardening and singing and playing brass instruments in local groups. He enjoys traveling and in recent years has painted on location in Italy, Quebec, Idaho, Utah, California and England. However, his favorite painting location is in the mountains and valleys of Virginia.
